Set into the volcanic terrain of Ciudad Universitaria rather than raised above it, the stadium reads from outside as an artificial crater. Its east side carries an unfinished stone relief by Diego Rivera, La Universidad, la familia y el deporte en México, tying the building directly to the campus’s larger fusion of architecture and muralism.
