Ciudad Universitaria se planeó como una sola declaración integrada —arquitectura, murales y espacio abierto diseñados en conjunto y no añadidos después. Este recorrido cubre las expresiones construidas más legibles de esa idea que aún se conservan en el campus original, desde el relieve de Rivera en el estadio hasta el mural de Eppens en la Facultad de Medicina.

The building's west facade carries La vida, la muerte, el mestizaje y los cuatro elementos, a monumental glazed-ceramic mural by Francisco Eppens Helguera completed in the early 1950s.
