# Cuadra San Cristóbal

Luis Barragán and Andrés Casillas · [Mexico City](https://fondomoderno.com/explore/cities/mexico-city)

Cuadra San Cristóbal brings house, stables, courtyards, water and landscape into one continuous composition. Its large walls do not simply enclose the estate. They direct movement, divide open space and create changing relationships between people, horses and the surrounding landscape.

The pool is both functional and architectural, while the pink, white and earth-colored planes operate at an almost territorial scale. The project is one of Barragán's clearest demonstrations that landscape can be constructed through walls, water and movement rather than planting alone.
