Casa Prieto López

Casa Prieto López shows Barragán working directly with the volcanic landscape of El Pedregal. Instead of clearing the site and placing a detached object on it, the house is composed around the existing lava, vegetation and changes in ground level.

Architecture and landscape remain visibly distinct, but neither is treated as background for the other. The project demonstrates how modern domestic life could be built into the terrain rather than imposed over it.
