Gustavo María Saavedra

Gustavo María Saavedra helped shape the Biblioteca Central as a functioning university building rather than only a monumental surface for O’Gorman’s mosaics. Working with Juan Martínez de Velasco and Juan O’Gorman, he connected the library’s compact volume with reading rooms, collections and the wider composition of Ciudad Universitaria.
