# Iglesia de Santiago Tlatelolco

Mathias Goeritz and Ricardo de Robina · [Mexico City](https://fondomoderno.com/buildings/cities/mexico-city)

A colonial-era church — the third built on the site, completed in 1610 — restored by Ricardo de Robina and folded into the modernist ensemble of the Plaza de las Tres Culturas in the early 1960s. Robina's restoration is a historic-preservation intervention, not new architecture; the modern interior belongs to Mathias Goeritz, who designed the stained glass, the Via Crucis and the main altar within the colonial shell.
