# Edificio Chihuahua

Edificio Chihuahua is one of the long residential blocks in the third section of Conjunto Urbano Nonoalco-Tlatelolco, the large Mexico City housing development inaugurated in 1964. The complex was developed under Mario Pani, with Ricardo de Robina also credited in contemporary documentation of the project; its repeated residential typologies made its scale and density possible.

The building faces the Plaza de las Tres Culturas and holds an unusual place in the architectural memory of Tlatelolco. On 2 October 1968, speakers at the student rally used its third-floor terrace; archival and historical research also documents arrests and military activity inside the building during the repression. That history makes Chihuahua more than a residential block within Pani's larger plan.
